The Details

Photographing weddings in New York City has connected me with truly the coolest of the cool couples. Those who are taking an unconventional approach to the modern-day wedding and designing their wedding day with solid true-to-me intention. This wedding was one of my all time favorites. Emily + Keith are creatives themselves, and they didn't underestimate the value in trusting the photographer with the creative vision. Keith is a photographer himself, and Emily is a textile designer. While preparing for their wedding, they emphasized that the most important component they were looking for was simple photos that feel like them.

Emily + Keith wanted a laid-back elopement with their closest family members. We ran around Manhattan in the morning in late May. It was already blazing hot in New York by that time, but the sunshine made these two look like total rockstars.

We started at the Hotel 50 Bowery for some getting ready photos, and moved into a first look on the sun-drenched rooftop. Em + Keith then met up with family before their elopement at the Manhattan City Hall. After their lovely confetti exit, tracking down a food truck was a must, so we grabbed some cans of soda and ran around the city a bit more to take photos. I left them both at Bubby's in Tribeca where they met their people for brunch and cake. It was an intimate and sweet gathering that couldn't have been more chill.
